Najam Sethi skewers Hamid Mir, Ansar Abbasi and possibly Talat Hussain for deliberate lying on Baitullah Mehsud’s involvement.

He states that while there existed evidence to the contrary, these anchors deliberately aired programs after Benazir Bhutto’s assassination which aimed to absolve him from the murder.

Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry upholds Doctine of Necessity

After all the talk of the evils of “Doctrine of Necessity”, and how this “new Supreme Court” will do something new, we have the Supreme Court decision under Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry endorsing the “Doctrine of Necessity”.

Using it to justify the actions that were taken by Musharraf – except that it is chastising him for doing an extra-constitutional step (when Musharraf instituted Emergency), a step that Musharraf himself acknowledged was extra-constitutional in interviews.

Mahreen Khan interviews Musharraf in London on the questions of the day – those accusations being flung in desperation by such “journalists” as Talat Hussain, Hamid Mir, Ansar Abbasi, Dr. Shahid Masood, and the even more “jahil” anchors like the “Bolta Pakistan” folks on AAJ TV (one of them didn’t even know who Pinochet was – which he should have had as a journalist commenting on foreign and world affairs).
